UK International Creative Industries Strategy

Christine Losecaat was retained by UK Trade & Investment as Creative Industries Advisor for over a decade. In that capacity, she was tasked with the development and implementation of the international trade and inward investment strategy for the British creative sector.

As an adviser, she participated in the Creative Industries Sector Advisory Group currently co-chaired by Tim Davie, CEO BBC Worldwide and Ed Vaizey, MP Minister UK Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries.

Official statistics published in January 2014 reveal that the UK’s creative industries are now worth £71.4 billion per year to the UK economy. This is a growth of almost 10% outperforming all other sectors of UK industry.

The sector generates just over a staggering £8 million pounds an hour.
