The London Design Embassy

The London Design Embassy is a fabulously designed, sumptuous business resource and crash-pad for the exclusive use of the world’s design community, right in the establishment heart of London during London Design Festival.

From 2006 – 2008 Little Dipper created a temporary VIP space in the heart of London. The aim was for the space to reflect the UK ’s position as the creative workshop of the world and reinforce London’s pre-eminence as a global design hub.

London Design Embassies created and delivered by Little Dipper with the support of Russell Sage included:

  • The ICA with Tom Dixon
  • The Royal Festival Hall with Ross Lovegrove
  • Somerset House with Barber Osgerby

Working with British Design Innovation, we ensured that the Embassies were not only a fruitful networking hub, but contained an intensive one to one business matching programme allowing UK designers to meet with prospective international clients.

The success of the London Design Embassy allowed UK Trade & Investment to morph the concept into the British Music Embassy which has become a key venue during SXSW in Austin every year.
