Christine Losecaat MBE

Christine Losecaat MBE is a results driven and internationally experienced senior business strategy, marketing and communications specialist and an Emmy® award winning producer.

Christine is Managing Director of Little Dipper, a consultancy which specialises in international strategy, positioning, research, project management, business development and client side creative direction working across a variety of sectors with a focus on international special projects for private and public sector organisations.

She effectively leads a diverse range of strategic and operational client projects and programmes including conceptualising, designing and executing strategies aimed at delivering business development opportunities internationally.  She has demonstrable expertise working at highest levels of government and in deploying high quality facilitation skills, she excels at enabling the alignment of differing agendas to secure ‘win-win’ scenarios across diverse cultures and attitudes.

Christine has been actively involved in initiatives in the USA, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and China. She has also undertaken research and visited several markets in the Gulf region.

She has created, designed and delivered programmes and events including the British Business Embassy at Lancaster House during the London 2012 Games, where she worked with the Prime Minister’s Office, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, the Department for Business and UK Trade & Investment to deliver the largest series of trade and investment conferences ever held by any government. The contribution to the UK economy as a result of this initiative, which saw the participation of over 400 speakers, 5,000 international decision makers, royalty and the entire UK Cabinet stands at  £13bn.

Other programmes that have benefited from her strategic and creative direction include the International Programme for Torino World Design Capital 2008, the UK business programme at Shanghai Expo 2010,  UK China Partners and the UK’s presence at World Expo  – Milan 2015.

For the last 10 years, she advised on the UK’s Creative Industries International Strategy working with the Creative Industries Sector Advisory Group co-chaired by Tim Davie (BBC) and Ed Vaizey, MP (Minister for Creative Industries) and the Creative Industries Council. She is Vice Chair at Advance, a charity providing crisis intervention and support for women and their children experiencing domestic and sexual violence, and community support for women who are involved in offending behaviour or the criminal justice system and a Trustee at Peace Child International, a charity focussed on youth employment and entrepreneurship.

Listed in Design Week’s ‘Hot 50’, Christine has been ardent promoter of the creative industries internationally and in 2014 she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the British Institute of Interior Design for her contribution to the profession. In 2016 she was awarded an honorary Member of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE). This honour was conferred by Her Majesty in recognition of Christine’s services to the creative industries in the UK.

Prior to establishing Little Dipper, Christine was Managing Director of The British Design Initiative, dedicated to promoting the development of export business through the employment of effective design on an international basis. The British Design Initiative’s core focus and expertise is design consultancy (all disciplines) design led manufacture (all product sectors), innovation and new technology. The organisation is now known as British Design Innovation.

Emmy® Award winning co-producer of Chuck Jones’ Peter and The Wolf, Christine Losecaat was until 1997 Director International Marketing at BMG Video International, a unit of BMG Entertainment, the US entertainment division of Bertelsmann AG.

Peter and The Wolf, the animated and live-action production starring Kirstie Alley, Lloyd Bridges and Ross Malinger with animated characters created by Chuck Jones was awarded The Outstanding Primetime Children’s Program Emmy® in September 1996 as well as the Grand Award at the Houston International Film Festival and the Silver Hugo at The Chicago Film Festival.

Whilst at BMG Video International, Christine Losecaat was instrumental in setting up the international audio-video infrastructure and overseeing the marketing of all central acquisitions. This involved extensive overseas travel and resulted in 32 operating distribution entities worldwide, some of which also had production capabilities. She had the pleasure of working on prestigious titles such as Aardman Animations’ Oscar® winning Wallace & Gromit, Editoy’s Pingu and music programming by acclaimed artists including Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Cher, Take That, Whitney Houston, and David Bowie.

Christine Losecaat started her career in the entertainment industry as “jack of all trades” at Cream Advertising, one of Europe’s leading entertainment advertising agencies. There her roles varied from media buying to print buying to account management across all of Cream’s music/film clients including EMI Records, UIP, PolyGram Video, British American Tobacco and Puma Sportswear.

Christine Losecaat (just Christine’s fine!) is a Dutch national, grew up in Germany and Italy and now resides in London, UK
